Farm Wedding
The Farmhouse Inn accommodates wedding events, large or small, including rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies, receptions and guest lodging. Each wedding event is unique with different needs and we welcome the opportunity to provide custom pricing to meet your criteria. The following information is given to begin the planning of your wedding event at the Farmhouse Inn.
Farm Wedding Venue & Facilities:
The Red Barn Meeting Room is a two story, schoolhouse shaped barn with wide plank, barn-wood flooring and wainscoting and includes caterers' kitchen and two public restrooms. The main dining area is 24' by 48' and accommodates 64 seated at round tables. The adjacent outdoor terrace with arbor accommodates another 32 seated at round tables. A lawn can be tented outside the terrace for more people or music, dancing, etc. The dining room has CD stereo and 4 corner speakers. An 8' by 10' greeting area can be used for gift tables, nametags, etc.
The Gardens and lawns can be used for wedding reception area or for wedding ceremony site. The Courtyard Garden is nestled between the Ellis Lane Farmhouse and the adjacent wing of guestrooms and includes a large brick patio that can seat 100 chairs for a ceremony and is surrounded by raised flower beds. Chairs can spill onto the grass lawn and the view to the horizon is wonderful on summer nights for sunset ceremonies. A wrought iron arbor is available for a wedding backdrop.
Overnight
Wedding Guest Accommodations includes 5 private guest rooms, and Ellis Lane Farmhouse. In all there are 10 bedrooms with 14 beds and 3 sofa beds, accommodating up to 28 individuals. For a Friday or Saturday night special event the full facility must be rented. Please see the accommodations page for more details about rooms.
Amenities for Wedding Guests include several miles of hiking trails passing woods, two fishing ponds, creeks, and the shoreline of the Apalachee River. A picnic area at the river provides a beautiful, rustic setting with seating, bonfire pit, hammock, and canoes. A golf cart is available to explore the trails. A full breakfast is served to overnight guests in the Red Barn Meeting Room. Group activities are available including guided tours of homes and museums in Madison, carriage rides of the historic district, and guided nature walks and hayrides on the farm. These are priced individually.
Rates and Policies:
Each wedding is quoted individually however we do provide the following example to guide your decision process:
Weekend Wedding Event with Rentals: (up to 150 guests) $7250 plus tax (7%)
A weekend wedding event for 150 or less (larger weddings quoted individually) includes event space for a Friday evening rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, a Saturday wedding ceremony and reception along with chairs, tables and tent with a basic rope lighting package. Event spaces include the Red Barn Meeting Room, Red Barn Kitchen, public restrooms and lawns, patios and garden for a ceremony and reception. An event facility manager, parking attendants and set up and tear down of rentals are provided. A full service caterer must be used for your reception and must follow our guidelines for service and clean-up. For events over 100 people a day of wedding coordinator must be provided by the renter. No Farmhouse Inn overnight accommodations are included in the package but are held for the wedding party or individual guests to reserve individually for a two night minimum. Payment for rooms not rented by individuals or the wedding party must be guaranteed by the renter for the wedding weekend. Alcohol provided by renter is permissible with purchase and proof of event liability insurance.
Event Insurance must be obtained for wedding events. The Inn insurance only covers overnight guests. Consult your homeowner insurance provider for more information.
Deposits to hold a weekend date for a full facility rental begins with a $250 "hold the date" deposit taken and is refundable for the next 14 days (provided the event date is at least 3 months away). Within 3 weeks of holding the date, a contract must be signed or the date is released to other parties.
